One of  PDG Carol's great successes during her Rotary year was her `Children of Russia Project' which was created and designed to help the children which came within the embrace of  the 22 Rotary Clubs in the Far Eastern portion of her Rotary District.

This was done with a unique pairing of  her other District Clubs, and the help of many other Clubs and Districts throughout the Rotary World.

Through the Matching Funds Programme of the Rotary Foundation, the DDF from other Districts, and the participation from many individual Rotary Clubs (18 from Hawaii), over US$600,000,00 had been committed to the Project up to time of  the District Convention.
