About PoLEPFoR

polepfremblemIntroduction

The Police/Law Enforcement Professionals Fellowship of Rotarians was inaugurated by Rotary International in October, 1994. The Founding Executive Committee consisted of Sergeant Geoffrey Little, Rotary Club of (then) Wollstonecraft, Sydney, Australia, Sheriff Mike Milas, Rotary Club of Port Washington, Wisconsin, USA, and Sergeant Robert Schottlander, Rotary Club of Fonthill, Ontario, Canada.

At the time, the Fellowship grew to in excess of one hundred correspondents.

The Fellowship looks forward to your "Expression of Interest" either in the form of a letter, fax or email and is open to all Rotarian Serving and Former Serving Members of  Police and Law Enforcement, including those who have been accorded 'Honorary Membership' of a Rotary Club; are the recipients of a 'Paul Harris Fellowship' or have served as a member of a Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world.

OBJECTIVES of The Police/Law Enforcement Professionals Fellowship of Rotarians (PoLEPFoR)

The Objectives of the Fellowship are to promote the fraternal ties which exist within Police and Law Enforcement, and to engage in Professional and Cultural exchanges, with a view to enhancing the work of Rotary and Police and Law Enforcement, locally, nationally and internationally.

The Fellowship continues to promote the ethic of "Service Above Self"' through the concept of 'Community Based Policing' and Vocational Excellence.

The Vocation of Police and Law Enforcement is world wide, diverse, and covers a wide spectrum of respective duties and responsibilities. Professional interaction is limitless and should be looked upon as another weapon in the international armoury of Law Enforcement. Polepfor supports the work of INTERPOL, United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, and other National and International Law Enforcement Agencies.

The Fellowship Web Site is now linking up with approved Police and Law Enforcement Web Sites around the world to provide a facility for members to expand upon your Vocational, Cultural and Social interests within and without Police and Law Enforcement.

LATE BREAKING NEWS!!

The Polepfor Team have recently discovered the value of being associated with Rotary International's new Facebook website, Linkedin and Twitter.    Whatever we may think about these more 'personal' sites, you will find (as your Chairman has found) that the networking opportunities just amongst Police and Law Enforcement is phenomenal, not to mention a whole new constituency who are either Probus Members, Rotarians, Rotaractors and/or 'friends' of Rotary which includes the 'sons and daughters' of Rotarians who only now, are finding out about the value of Rotary.

What started off five years ago with one guy out there endeavouring to keep in touch with his classmates has now become a new International Forum for us all.

Check out the Polepfor Group on Linkedin and start to explore a whole new world out there.
